Title: [Experiences in the treatment of gunshot injuries of the extremities]. Author: Hamdan TA. Journal: Beitr Orthop Traumatol; 1989 Jul; 36(7):329-31. PubMed ID: 2803197. Abstract: Report on 7 years experiences in missile injuries of the extremities in patients of the Iraqui-Iranian war. The main wounding agent were misstes splinters in 71% of cases. Three types of injuries were distinguished: primary, secondary and tertiary. Compound fractures were seen in the majority of the casualties. The average time needed for reaching the hospital was 6 hours. The war casualties have been classified into three categories.
