  • Title: [Osteoplasty in wound infection].
    Author: Boltrukevich SI, Kalygin AV.
Journal: Ortop Travmatol Protez; 1989 Jul; (7):14-7. PubMed ID: 2812733.
    Abstract:
The outcome of a surgical intervention in the purulent wound together with other common clinical factors depends to a determining degree on the quality of the plastic material and its resistance to infection. The authors used allogenic transplants and demineralized bone matrix which had been conserved in solutions of aldehydes and was characterized by high bacteriostatic activity with reduced antigen properties and preservation of its biologic value. This allowed to perform reconstructive operations in 68 patients and to obtain positive results in 89.2% of the cases.
