Title: [Bronchial endoscopy in the diagnostic and developmental evaluation of small cell broncho-pulmonary cancer]. Author: Baldeyrou P, Marrash R, Le Chevalier T, Arriagada R. Journal: Bull Cancer; 1987; 74(5):511-5. PubMed ID: 2825851. Abstract: The fibroscopic examination of 180 patients treated for small cell lung carcinoma is studied. The fibroscopy permits a good diagnosis in at least 93.3% of cases. In the case of failure a mediastinoscopy or transparietal cytopuncture are indicated. The absence of a correlation between a radiological remission and endoscopic remission justifies an endoscopic control prior to each therapeutic step. After treatment, the endoscopy permits the evaluation of chemotherapeutic and mainly radiotherapeutic bronchial sequellae. Two out of 70 patients treated by both chemotherapy and radiotherapy presented normal bronchial endoscopy.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
