  • Title: Occupational skin disease in hairdressers.
    Author: Marks JG.
Journal: Occup Med; 1986; 1(2):273-84. PubMed ID: 2956709.
    Abstract:
Irritant or allergic contact dermatitis of the hands is the main occupational hazard for hairdressers. The shampoos, dyes, and waving solutions that must be applied by hairdressers are the agents involved. There is a significant association between the development of occupationally induced hand dermatitis and a history of atopy, particularly atopic dermatitis.
