Title: [Comparison of the bronchodilating activity of procaterol and nicardipine in chronic forms of bronchial asthma]. Author: Ardizzi A, Barberis S, Giorgis GE, Oliaro A, Galietti F, Ciotta D. Journal: Minerva Med; 1987 Oct 15; 78(19):1433-5. PubMed ID: 2959882. Abstract: The bronchodilatory activity of one beta 2-stimulation (procaterol) and one calcium antagonist (nicardipine) both recently introduced was compared in a group of chronic asthmatics in the clinical remission phase. The experiment took the form of the randomised double blind administration of procaterol or nicardipine or a placebo twice a day for 15 days with spirometric tests being performed before, during and after the experiment. The results show that nicardipine does have a bronchodilatory effect though less than the beta 2-stimulant.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
