Title: [Blood levels of dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) and the risk of breast cancer]. Author: Gomes P, Cassanas G, Halberg F, Hermida R, Robel P, Baulieu EE, Lakatua D, Haus E. Journal: C R Acad Sci III; 1988; 306(7):261-4. PubMed ID: 2967730. Abstract: In North American women at low or high risk of developing breast cancer, as assessed by an epidemiologic questionnaire, the plasma concentration of dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate shows a statistically significant circannual variation. In adolescents, in all seasons, circulating dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate is a classifier of the risk of developing breast cancer, a relatively low concentration of this hormone being associated with an increased risk.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
