Title: [ROLE OF C-REACTIVE PROTEIN AND TUMOR NECROSIS FACTOR-α IN IMMUNOREGULATION SYSTEM IN PATIENTS WITH CONCOMITANT COURSE OF CHRONIC PANCREATITIS AND TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS]. Author: Zhuravlyova LV, Shekhovtsova YO. Journal: Eksp Klin Gastroenterol; 2016; (6):33-6. PubMed ID: 30280549. Abstract: PURPOSE: To determine the content of markers of inflammation, namely C-reactive protein and tumor necrosis factor-α in patients with combined course of chronic pancreatitis and type 2 diabetes mellitus. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The investigation involved of 20 patients with isolated chronic pancreatitis and 20 patients with combined course of chronic pancreatitis and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The control group consisted of 20 healthy individuals. RESULTS: It was found that patients with combined course of chronic pancreatitis and type 2 diabetes had significantly higher levels of C-reactive protein and hyper-TNF-α-emia (p < 0.05). Patients of all study groups revealed a close correlation between C-reactive protein and tumor necrosis factor-α (p < 0.05)/ CONCLUSIONS: The results of the study suggest that the levels of C-reactive protein and tumor necrosis factor-α are important diagnostic markers of inflammation in patients with chronic pancreatitis and type 2 diabetes mellitus.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
