Title: Dexamethasone suppression test. Author: Dam H. Journal: Acta Psychiatr Scand Suppl; 1988; 345():38-44. PubMed ID: 3067539. Abstract: A connection between a high level of plasma cortisol and psychopathology has long been observed. In depressive patients increased plasma cortisol and non-suppression to the dexamethasone suppression test (DST) has often been described. In this study it was found that endogenously depressed patients more often than non-endogenously depressed patients showed abnormal results to the DST. No difference was found in delta MAX TSH between suppressors and non-suppressors to the DST.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
