Title: Chronic recurrent pancreatitis secondary to a submucosal ampullary tumor in a patient with neurofibromatosis. Author: Kahrilas PJ, Hogan WJ, Geenen JE, Stewart ET, Dodds WJ, Arndorfer RC. Journal: Dig Dis Sci; 1987 Jan; 32(1):102-7. PubMed ID: 3098534. Abstract: We report a 45-year-old nonalcoholic patient with Von Recklinghausen's disease and chronic recurrent pancreatitis. On endoscopy, a benign-appearing submucosal tumor surrounded the papilla of Vater. Cannulation of the pancreatic duct showed a dilated ductal system with subsequent delayed drainage. Endoscopic manometry revealed elevated sphincter of Oddi pressures. Endoscopic sphincterotomy resulted in immediate normal drainage of the pancreatic duct and in subsequent clinical improvement.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
