Title: [Chemical sterilization of gutta-percha cones with sodium hypochlorite, sporocidin and PVP-I]. Author: Misirligil A, Erdoğan B. Journal: Mikrobiyol Bul; 1987 Jan; 21(1):48-54. PubMed ID: 3126380. Abstract: This study was undertaken to determine the chairside disinfection of gutta-percha cones prior to obturation of the root canal, during the endodontic therapy. Several contaminated gutta-percha cones are immersed in 2.5% aqueous sodium hypochlorite, Sporocidin (2% glutaraldehyde) and 10% polyvinylpyrrolidone-iodine (PVP-I) solutions for 10, 20 and 30 seconds. A 10 second exposure of contaminated gutta-percha cones to the 2.5% aqueous sodium hypochlorite solution found to be the most effective in the surface disinfecting of points in this study.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
