Abstract: Cutaneous infections with Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are major complications of epidermolysis bullosa. Application of impermeable occlusive dressings over denuded skin colonized with these bacteria results in rapid multiplication and the hazard of severe pyoderma.
