Title: [Antepartum cardiotocography in high-risk pregnancies and its effect on perinatal morbidity and mortality]. Author: Manterola Alvarez AD, García Tagle J, Calleja LA, Rodríguez Flores F, Alonso López AG. Journal: Ginecol Obstet Mex; 1987 Apr; 55():101-6. PubMed ID: 3154459. Abstract: 2635 prenatal cardiotocographic recordings were correlated with perinatal mortality in 1000 patients. In some cases, there were extenuating circumstances which, when combined with obstetrical intervention, resulted in an increase in mortality. These included congenital malformations, poor maternal conditions for surgery, a hypertensive crisis, and a delay in surgery. The correlated perinatal mortality was 9x1000.
