Abstract: Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a rare but aggressive and potentially fatal condition characterized by excessive immune activation. It can occur as primary/ familial and secondary/sporadic/ acquired form. Infections can play a role as triggers in the secondary form of HLH.
