Abstract: A woman in her 34th week of gestation required emergency appendectomy for perforation, with postoperative wound dehiscence secondary to fasciitis and tension on the suture line. Polypropylene mesh was used to repair the abdominal wall. Fetal distress necessitated a cesarean section. The mother and child both survived without functional impairment.
