Title: Sclerotherapy for esophageal varices. Author: Tabibian N. Journal: Am Fam Physician; 1988 Jun; 37(6):147-52. PubMed ID: 3289338. Abstract: Sclerotherapy is an effective early treatment for bleeding esophageal varices. The procedure can be performed without general anesthesia and can be used to stabilize the situation until a decision is reached regarding long-term therapy.
