Title: [The role of prostaglandins in the activation of sugar transport into the rat diaphragm]. Author: Kosovskiĭ MI. Journal: Vopr Med Khim; 1987; 33(2):52-4. PubMed ID: 3300021. Abstract: Kinetic parameters of D-xylose (nonmetabolized analogue of glucose) transport were studied in isolated rat diaphragm in presence of insulin and prostaglandins E2 and F2 alpha. Prostaglandins E2 and F2 alpha simultaneously with insulin were found to increase the rate of D-xylose transport by 49 +/- 3% and 19 +/- 2%, respectively, which occurred due to increase in Vmax, while Km value of the carrier-sugar complex was unaltered.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
