Abstract: Optic nerve hypoplasia is an easily overlooked, nonprogressive developmental anomaly which results in a wide range of visual deficits. It is frequently associated with clinically significant central nervous system and endocrine abnormalities. Maternal substance abuse is increasingly recognized in many cases.
