    Abstract:
    In view of numerous legal cases of recourse on the basis of injections incorrectly carried out in birds, a description of the most important injection techniques was compiled with reference to existing literature on this subject. Intramuscular and subcutaneous injections are preferable methods of parenteral application. Intracutaneous application and its indication are briefly mentioned. Intravenous injection, blood sampling as well as different methods of euthanasia are described as well.
