Abstract: Volvulus of the cecum, a rare postoperative complication, occurred on the first postoperative day following left nephroureterectomy in a volunteer kidney donor. Postoperative cecal volvulus can occur after practically any operation, may present insidiously like adynamic ileus, but may progress rapidly to gangrene of the involved intestine.
