Abstract: By interpreting the concept of "hysteria feeling" as a manifestation of countertransference the author attempts to clarify the physician's dilemma in dealing with hysterical patients. "Hysteria feeling" is a complex of feelings in the physician as he develops increasing doubts about the authenticity of the patient's experiences and behaviour.
