Title: [The role of phlebography in pre and peri-surgical varicose veins]. Author: Van der Stricht J. Journal: Phlebologie; 1988; 41(1):171-80. PubMed ID: 3406061. Abstract: The author has given up per-operative phlebography of varicose veins, since many years. It causes complications and is subject to errors of interpretation. Pre-operatively, the conventional ascending phlebography is not justified. On the contrary, a selective dynamic phlebography is indicated before any procedure for venous insufficiency of the calf in order to specify the morphology and function and the external saphenous veins and veins to the gastrocnemius and the soleus. Selective phlebography is sometimes useful in case of recurrence of the varices.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
