Journal: Zh Nevropatol Psikhiatr Im S S Korsakova; 1987; 87(11):1704-10. PubMed ID: 3434077.
    Abstract:
Having examined 77 patients with neurosyphilis the authors diagnosed early neurosyphilis (chronic cerebrospinal syphilitic meningitis and cerebrospinal syphilis) in 22 patients and late neurosyphilis (tabes dorsalis) in 55 patients. Early neurosyphilis was characterized by affective volitional, asthenic, and hypochondriac disorders, whereas late neurosyphilis was manifested in neurosis-like disturbances, partial and total dementia and hallucinational paranoid syndrome. The main principles of forensic psychiatric medical examination of this group of patients are outlined.
