Title: Demonstration of rectal varices by transhepatic inferior mesenteric venography. Author: Hsieh JS, Huang CJ, Huang YS, Huang TJ. Journal: Dis Colon Rectum; 1986 Jul; 29(7):459-61. PubMed ID: 3487438. Abstract: A case of rectal varices confirmed by percutaneous transhepatic inferior mesenteric venography is reported. By using the transhepatic approach, the mesenteric venous tributaries can be catheterized selectively with direct injection of the high-density dye, and the location and extent of varices are clearly demonstrated. Transhepatic inferior mesenteric venography can be used as an alternative method of angiographic investigation for rectal varices.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
