  • Title: [Dependence of the physical work capacity of surgical patients with congenital heart defects on the initial degree of pulmonary hypertension].
    Author: Gritsenko VV.
Journal: Vestn Khir Im I I Grek; 1986 Jul; 137(7):63-8. PubMed ID: 3564296.
    Abstract:
The examination of 55 healthy people and 107 patients operated upon in childhood for congenital heart failure with different initial degrees of lung hypertension was made on reaching by them the age of work capacity (I group-systolic pressure in the pulmonary artery up to 25 mm Hg, II group-26-50 mm Hg, III group--51-75 mm Hg). The physical work capacity of patients subjected to radical correction of the failure before the development of lung hypertension had no considerable difference with that of healthy people.
