Abstract: Dental crowding is the most common malocclusion, and molar distalization possesses significant advantages in obtaining space, molar neutral relationship and avoiding invasive manipulation. The esthetic problem remains a major challenge for traditional molar distalization appliances. However, the advent of clear aligner technology has brought a new strategy for molar distalization. Accordingly, this review seeks to evaluate the clinical efficacy of molar distalization with clear aligners from the perspectives of three-dimensional control, displacement accuracy, anchorage protection and post treatment stability.
