Abstract: The use of digoxin-specific fragments, antigen-binding (Fab) for antidotal therapy of severe digitalis intoxication is rapidly becoming a treatment of choice. Furthermore, studies with this mode of drug-specific therapy using Fab specific for desipramine and for phencyclidine suggest that this treatment may be applicable to a variety of other drugs or drug classes.
