    Abstract:
    Comparative study performed in Wistar and Wistar-Kyoto rats, revealed the effect of parathyroid hormone on the phasic and tonic components of contractile activity of the portal vein smooth muscle cells. The hormone reduced the tonic tension of vessels. The autorhythmic activity frequency was decreased under the effect of the hormone which was followed by increased amplitudes of phasic contractions in the Wistar rats.
