Title: [A program of electromyographic study of suspected latent pyramidal insufficiency]. Author: Starobinets MKh, Volkova LD. Journal: Zh Nevropatol Psikhiatr Im S S Korsakova; 1987; 87(8):1126-33. PubMed ID: 3673401. Abstract: One hundred patients with suspected latent pyramidal insufficiency associated with cerebral and upper spinal abnormalities of varying nature were studied using a special scheme of electromyographic examination. The latter included: assessment of the ratio of curves of tension-time of the central and motor responses of the muscles of the calf and the musculi pedis, determination of the severity of "low frequency depression" of the H-reflex of the musculus gastrocnemius as well as of the main characteristics of the late potential of the musculi plantaris. The electrophysiological signs of the subclinical stage of the pyramidal syndrome were detected in 47% of cases.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
