  • Title: Nevus sebaceus. A clinicopathologic study of its evolution.
    Author: Alessi E, Sala F.
Journal: Am J Dermatopathol; 1986 Feb; 8(1):27-31. PubMed ID: 3706668.
    Abstract:
We studied 130 specimens of nevus sebaceus of Jadassohn. All structures derived from the surface ectoderm were found to be affected in varying degree. Several different histologic patterns were discerned. The nosological position of nevus sebaceus is discussed, and it is concluded that nevus sebaceus is a hamartoma that involves both epithelial and non-epithelial elements of the skin.
