    Physicians are performing a greater variety of hematology tests in their offices. Changes in reimbursement by third-party payers have been one factor in this move. Manufacturers are now actively marketing new, smaller, and simpler desktop analyzers to meet this need. This article discusses the requirements for performing hematology tests and the available instrumentation for the doctor's office setting.
