Title: Aseptic abscess associated with SAPHO syndrome: a case report. Author: Kim CG, Kim YJ, Lee S, Kim TH, Kim H. Journal: Skeletal Radiol; 2024 Oct; 53(10):2307-2313. PubMed ID: 37889316. Abstract: Aseptic abscess (AA) is a rare autoinflammatory disorder, characterized by the formation of sterile abscesses in various organs, and is accompanied by inflammatory bowel disease. Antibiotic treatment is ineffective, but steroid therapy shows a good response. AA can be difficult to differentiate from infection because abscesses appear similar both radiologically and histopathologically. Herein, we present the case of a 56-year-old woman with AA in the anterior chest wall and synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, and osteitis (SAPHO) syndrome.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
