Title: [Lymphangiomotoricity and tissue pressure]. Author: Hutzschenreuter P, Brümmer H. Journal: Z Lymphol; 1986 Dec; 10(2):55-7. PubMed ID: 3825240. Abstract: In the lymphangiomotor system, during manual lymph drainage (ML) there is an increase of lymphatic pressure, a decrease of the amplitude and an increase in frequency and hypertensive lymph stasis in too intensive ML. In the interstitial fluid, the pressure is always negative under physiological conditions and becomes positive when increased proteins are present. A positive IFP can be reduced a) by compression therapy b) by manual lymphatic drainage c) most effective by the combination of a) and b) Since the IFP increases again after discontinuation of one of these therapies, compression therapy is indispensable as chronic treatment.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
