Title: A Patient With Giant Meningioma With Intracranial and Extracranial Communication. Author: Sun S, Chen B, Zhou H. Journal: J Craniofac Surg; 2024 Jun 01; 35(4):e374-e376. PubMed ID: 38557556. Abstract: Atypical meningiomas, classified as World Health Organization (WHO) grade-2 tumors, are characterized by varied and unpredictable clinical behavior. Here, we report the case of an 80-year-old woman with a large meningioma displaying communication both intracranially and extracranially. The histopathological diagnosis confirmed a WHO grade-2 atypical meningioma. After complete surgical resection, the patient experienced a significant improvement in symptoms, with no evidence of recurrence on follow-up imaging. This case highlights the significance of understanding giant intracranial and extracranial communication meningiomas, shedding light on the favorable prognosis associated with WHO grade-2 atypical meningiomas after complete surgical resection.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
