Title: Multiple facial hemangiomas and iron-deficiency anemia: blue rubber-bleb nevus syndrome. Author: Ohishi M, Tanaka Y, Higuchi Y, Otsuka T, Kagimoto M, Niho Y. Journal: Head Neck Surg; 1985; 7(3):249-54. PubMed ID: 3871755. Abstract: A 21-year-old female complained of bluish soft tumors on her face. Her past history of anemia led us to investigate a possibility of "Blue Rubber-Bleb Nevus syndrome." Subsequent examinations revealed a severe iron-deficiency anemia and gastrointestinal tract hemangiomas. The facial hemangiomas were removed after controlling anemia. It is important to examine the gastrointestinal tract when multiple cutaneous hemangiomas are associated with anemia.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
