  • Title: Testing for bacteriuria by home culturing in preschool girls.
Author: Godard C, Frutiger P, Delarue C, Christen JP, Wavre D, Girardet P.
Journal: Helv Paediatr Acta; 1979; 34(3):209-12. PubMed ID: 387672.
    Abstract:
Home urine culture in dipslide was performed in 297 preschool girls. Results correlated well with those of cultures at the medical office, specially if midstream urine was used. This method proved to be an inexpensive, reliable (100% sensitivity) technique for detecting significant bacteriuria in preschool girls. False-positive tests occurred in 22 cases.
