Title: [Prevention of suture dehiscence of the duodenal stump in gastric resection for pyloroduodenal ulcers]. Author: Zemlianoĭ AG, Aliev SA. Journal: Vestn Khir Im I I Grek; 1985 Apr; 134(4):26-32. PubMed ID: 3892862. Abstract: Based on the surgical treatment of 606 patients with complicated pyloroduodenal ulcers the authors give recommendations on prophylactics of incompetent sutures of the duodenum. These measures allowed to reduce the lethality 6 times as compared with the previous 10 years. Drainage of the abdominal cavity with the "difficult-for-suturing" stump helps to avoid relaparotomy if there appeared incompetence of sutures of the duodenum stump. Stomach resection after Billroth I is one of the methods to prevent incompetent sutures of the "difficult-for-suturing" stump.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
