Abstract: Exosomes are double-layered lipid membranous nanovesicles that are endosomal in origin and secreted by almost all cells. They are 30-130 nm in size and contain various molecular signatures such as miRNAs, mRNAs, DNA, lipids, and proteins. Due to their highly heterogeneous content, exosomes have a major role in influencing cellular physiology and pathology. Although exosome research has been in progress for a long time, its biomedical applications have recently been expanding due to its bio-friendly nature. However, the most challenging part is its isolation to obtain quality exosomes with good yield.
