Journal: Scand J Infect Dis; 1979; 11(3):219-23. PubMed ID: 392739. Abstract: Sulfamethizole and sulfamethoxazole were compared in a prospective, randomized, double blind study on uncomplicated, acute urinary tract infections. 59 patients were evaluable for therapeutic effect of sulfamethizole and 53 for sulfamethoxazole.
