    Abstract:
    Electrophoresis in PAAG was used to study the fractional composition of proteins from free and membrane-bound ribosomes isolated from the rat liver. The membrane-bound ribosomes are shown to differ in the protein composition from the free ones in the presence of two fractions with a molecular weight of 35 and 50 kDa which are localized in a large subunit of the organelle. The possible role of these fractions in ribosome-membrane interaction is discussed.
