  • Title: [Skin and nail changes in foot deformities].
    Author: Fabry H.
    Journal: Z Hautkr; 1986 Jan; 61(1-2):69-74. PubMed ID: 3953132.
    Abstract:
Hallux valgus leads to lateral deviation of the big toe's longitudinal axis. In consequence, the forces working on the tip of the toe during unrolling of the foot are shifted in medial direction. As a result, subungual clavi, unguis incarnatus, unguis convolutus, or laterally turning onychogryposis like a cork-screw develop.
