Title: [Results of a multicentric clinical study of mezlocillin in Japan (author's transl)]. Author: Fujii R. Journal: Arzneimittelforschung; 1979; 29(12a):2005-8. PubMed ID: 396930. Abstract: In a clinical trial including 701 patients 6-((R)-2-[3-methylsulfonyl-2-oxo-imidazolidine-1-carboxamido]-2-phenyl-acetamido)-penicillanic acid sodium salt (mezlocillin, Baypen) proved effective in the treatment of severe infections. It showed a particularly high efficacy in septicaemia and endocarditis and in purulent meningitis. In cases unresponsive to previous treatment with other antibiotics mezlocillin was effective in about two-thirds of the cases. Side effects were slight and of the same nature as those accompanying other penicillins.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
