  • Title: Polyglactin 910 (Vicryl) mesh graft for protection of esophagogastrostomy. A preliminary report.
    Author: Arndt M, Lingemann B, Kessler B.
Journal: Acta Chir Scand; 1985; 151(1):93-6. PubMed ID: 3984659.
    Abstract:
Anastomotic leakage from esophagogastrostomy is associated with a high mortality rate. Polyglactin 910 mesh grafts were used in 16 cases since 1982 to protect anastomoses after resection of the lower esophagus or cardia. No anastomotic dehiscence was seen in these patients and none died of leakage from the anastomosis.
