Title: Whole body computed tomography in cancer management. Author: Husband JE. Journal: Br J Hosp Med; 1985 Jul; 34(1):25-31. PubMed ID: 4016406. Abstract: Whole body computed tomography (CT) can provide information which was previously impossible or difficult to obtain about the presence and extent of tumours. However, the technique is still not generally available and many patients with cancer are investigated and sometimes treated in hospitals without CT facilities. The purpose of this brief review is to provide a summary of the value of CT in oncology, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses, so that clinicians with only a general interest in the subject may be aware of the major indications for its use in the assessment of malignant disease.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
