Title: Andrew's liver salt as an effervescent in upper gastrointestinal radiography. Author: Mohammed SH. Journal: Gastrointest Radiol; 1985; 10(4):336-8. PubMed ID: 4054498. Abstract: Double-contrast radiography is widely used for examination of the upper gastrointestinal tract. However, it is not practiced routinely in many developing areas, partly because of high cost of the effervescent agents. In a series of 300 upper gastrointestinal tract investigations, Andrew's Liver Salt has proven to be an effective effervescent, releasing adequate gas in more than 80% of the examinations. It disintegrates rapidly with minimal bubble formation and no artifacts. It has high patient acceptability and is very inexpensive.[Abstract] [Full Text] [Related] [New Search]
