    Abstract:
    Indications, volume and technique of surgical procedures in patients with portal hypertension complicated by ascites are discussed. Original methods of external autoreinfusion of the ascitic fluid and peritoneo-jugular shunts are described. It is shown that the surgical measures of treatment of such patients must be gradually complicated from external ascitoreinfusion to intraperitoneal decompressive procedures.
