Title: Another chance: a non-seatbelt related fracture of the lumbar spine. Author: Hall HE, Robertson WW. Journal: J Trauma; 1985 Dec; 25(12):1163-6. PubMed ID: 4068070. Abstract: A previously undescribed upper lumbar spine fracture configuration is reviewed in three patients. These flexion/distraction injuries were not associated with seatbelt use. The anterior vertebral body underwent significant compression.
