    Abstract:
    Altogether 256 biopsies of the stomach from 175 patients with chronic gastric erosions diagnosed clinico-endoscopically were studied. Erosions were found histologically in 112 biopsies, in 48 cases they were estimated as acute and in 64 cases as chronic ones. Typical fibrinoid necrosis is characteristic of chronic erosions, granulation tissue is present less often.
