  • Title: Mode of recovery from the effects of heterologous anti-lymphocyte serum. I. Recovery of the immune response.
    Author: Jeejeebhoy HF, Singla O.
Journal: Immunology; 1972 May; 22(5):789-99. PubMed ID: 4553773.
    Abstract:
Free immunosuppressive antibody is frequently demonstrable in the sera of mice for some days after the completion of a course of ALS. The potency of the immunosuppressive material which is present and the duration for which it remains in the circulation varies according to the ALS used. These two factors appear to be of major importance in determining the rate at which immunological competence is restored to an ALS-treated animal. Recovery is retarded by the presence of free immunosuppressive antibody in the circulation and the degree of retardation is directly proportional to the potency of the material present and the duration for which it remains in the circulation.
