    Author: Espersen T.
Journal: Ugeskr Laeger; 1979 Jun 04; 141(23):1581-2. PubMed ID: 462606.
    Abstract:
A case of focal nodular hyperplasia of the right hepatic lobe was discovered during the hysterectomy operation of a 40 year old woman. The patient had used oral contraceptives almost continuously for 15 years to treat metrorrhagia. The patient had been using a preparation consisting of .5 mg norgestrel and .05 mg ethinyl estradiol for 6 years prior to the operation; the other preparations were unknown. The relationship between oral contraceptive use and developing benign hepatic tumors is discussed.
