  • Title: Cellular junctions of the midgut in the centipede (Scutigerella pagesi) as revealed by lanthanum tracer and freeze-fracture technique.
    Author: Juberthie-Jupeau L.
Journal: Tissue Cell; 1979; 11(2):317-23. PubMed ID: 473164.
    Abstract:
In the midgut of a Myriapoda continuous junctions and gap junctions are described for the first time. Continuous junctions form a belt around the upper two-thirds of each cell. In the intercellular space long and smooth septa are clustered in sinuous strands and intramembrane particles appear on the PF. In the gap junctions the intramembrane particles are located on the EF.
